1. Turn off power to equipment.
2. Remove any necessary hose wrap and clamps to
expose connector.
3. Identify connector in need of replacement.
4. Mark each cable with appropriate colored tape (c
or d) on cable, 2 from back of connector (RED—A,
BLUE—B). Fig. 1.
5. Remove old connector by cutting cable directly
behind connector. (Fig. 2)
6. Strip back outer cable jacket 0.75 to expose (3X)
conductors. Be careful not to cut individual conductor
insulation. (Use Fig. 3 for measurement reference)
7. Using 16AWG wire stripping tool (f), strip back each
conductor 0.30 (between 1/4 and 3/8). Use Fig. 3.
NOTE: Be careful not to nick or cut copper strands
when stripping wire. If any strands are accidentally
cut, repeat from step 4.
8. Install one ferrule (b) on each conductor, and pinch
metal portion of ferrule flat with pliers (g). End of
copper strands should be at or beyond end of ferrule.
(Fig. 4)
NOTE: Crimp ferrule from end (not side) and ensure
that ferrule insulation is completely covering exposed
copper wires before crimping.
9. Trim off excess wire strands that stick beyond end of
ferrule (Fig. 5)
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD: Disconnect
all power sources before accessing any
