1. If applicable, remove old tape, jacketing, and boot from around modem.
NOTE: Take caution in removing old material. Avoid nicking or scoring the material hoses, power cables, air
hose, ect.
2. Check all fluid connections at modem to make sure no leaks are occurring (Fig. 1).
3. Check external M8 cable connection between two modem halves. If necessary, secure connection with electrical
tape (Fig. 1).
4. Check air hose connection to ensure no air leaks (Fig. 1).
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD: Disconnect all power sources before accessing any electrical connections
in the Control Module, Fluid Modules, or hoses. Equipment must be serviced by trained personnel only.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD: Improper equipment grounding, poor ventilation, open flame or sparks
can cause a hazardous condition and result in fire or explosion and serious injury.
PROJECTILE HAZARD: You may be injured by venting liquids or gases that are released under pressure,
or by flying debris.
NEVER MODIFY THE EQUIPMENT: Do not modify the equipment unless the manufacturer provides
written approval.

5. Install new modem boot by aligning interior pattern on boot with external pattern on modem shell (Fig. 2).
6. Position air hose/power cables in groove of modem boot.
7. Tape around modem boot with one strand of black electrical tape in center of boot (Fig. 3).
8. Wrap provided jacket around modem boot and over existing hose jacketing (Fig. 4).
9. Tape jacket seams with black electrical tape.
